“Life is neither good or evil,

but only a place for good and evil.”

    ~ Marcus Aurelius

ESSENCE: Wisdom is developed through self-knowledge, good judgment, understanding others, and a willingness to learn directly through life experiences.

Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; it is the state of being wise. Wisdom is essential to our evolution. Wisdom is gained by learning directly through the challenges of life experiences. All challenges are potential wisdom makers. As we gain wisdom, we eXpand our Souls.

Stoicism is a philosophy for bold and effective leadership. It teaches the application of wisdom for purposes of self-control, and perseverance as a means to overcome destructive emotions, advocating for a life in harmony with Nature. Stoics tend to be natural born leaders.

Sleeping Souls tend to have low Self-awareness and avoid discomfort at all costs. When they continuously avoid discomfort, they live in denial. Living in denial is not an authentic way to live. Rather, it’s more like a fairyland in Hell, in that to the outside world they have successfully created an illusion that their lives are perfect, while all along, their Souls are in turmoil. For many, until they unleash their power by learning the lessons and capturing the wisdom, not much will change. They remain dazed and confused, unsure about what to do next. Some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to embrace discomfort because they are beginning to realize that discomfort is our higher Selves informing us that a lesson from the challenge at hand needs to be learned. They realize that discomfort leads them to their center of knowing. And when they acknowledge, accept, and integrate this learning into their lives, the negative energy releases and the discomfort dissipates. In other words, they discover comfort in the discomfort, because they know there is wisdom to be gained. However, if they don’t capture the learning, or if they deny the discomfort, this uncomfortable challenge will return again in the future. This is why many Seekers embrace discomfort, as they are on a journey to take on as many challenges as possible to transcend to a state of awakening, experiencing greater inner peace along the way.

Awakened tend to believe that our Souls experience One infinite life, comprised of an infinite number of chapters. Within each chapter we gain wisdom. And the wisdom gained along the way determines how consciously evolved our Souls are. Hence, the term old Soul recognizes an individual as consciously evolved through already having experienced numerous chapters of their infinite life. They tend to acknowledge the opportunity within every lesson learned, to have earned knowledge through learning the lesson, and to give thanks for all of their lessons, no matter how difficult. By having this awareness about learning, knowledge, and wisdom, they tend to discover their life purpose….

LIFE PURPOSE  •  3 min read
    DAY 19 of 55: Aspect #13

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.
But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”

    ~ Mother Teresa

ESSENCE: Our life purpose aligns with our true heart’s desires.

Wisdom consists of the central motivating aims of our life—the reasons we get up in the morning. Purpose can guide our life decisions, influence our behaviors, shape our goals, offer us a sense of direction, and create a purpose-driven life, all of which leads us to authentic happiness. According to spiritual wisdom, as long as we are still breathing, our life purpose has not yet been fulfilled. Discovering our life purpose is a journey, and it’s the Seeker who happens to discover it.

Spiritual chaplain Lisa Gruenloh defines our life purpose as “the aspect of us that is completely passionate about helping others in purposeful ways. Our passion helps us to identify our life purpose. Then, by connecting with our higher Selves, we’re effortlessly guided by our intuition, inspiring action.”

Sleeping Souls tend to snicker at the notion of having a life purpose. They write it off as religious nonsense. Rather, they get sucked into the illusion of success, which at the core is about gaining prestige, power, control, and money. They tend to believe the level of success they achieve is reflected by where they live, the size of their houses, the types of cars they drive, the schools their children attend, and the title on their business cards. Their conditional programming drives them to “keep up with the Joneses,” which leads them to purchase all this materialistic stuff, most likely discovering that they are not authentically happy. An internal uneasiness eats away at them, and yet they can’t pinpoint the source of their discomfort. Once they have suffered for long enough, some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to make tremendous progress in their journey when they discover and embrace their life purpose. For many of them, materialism becomes secondary and simplicity becomes primary. For many, their competitive nature transitions to a collaborative one. Their self-centeredness is often replaced with compassion for others, drama subsides and inner peace ensues, and knowing replaces fear, as they take inspired action to fulfill their life purpose. If they don’t happen to achieve their life purpose in their current chapter of life, then they will reincarnate to Earth at that same level of consciousness in their next chapter of their infinite life. This is why Guru Satya Narayana Goenka emphasizes the need to die with a purified mind.

Awakened tend to know that, by living their life purpose, they will not die in this chapter of their infinite life until their purpose is fulfilled. Once their life purpose is fulfilled, then they transcend to a higher dimension in the next chapter of their infinite life. They tend not to allow success to go to their heads, as they are simply fulfilling their life purpose. Many know that while they are here on Earth their life purpose involves collaborating with other people in order to create positive change….

    CHANGE  •  3 min read
    DAY 20 of 55: Aspect #14

    “The decisions you make today,

determine the stories you tell tomorrow.”

    ~ Craig Groeschel

ESSENCE: Change is constant in life.

Change is to make or become different. Change is constant in life. “We cannot step into the same river twice.” If we view change as positive, we tend to discover that new options are always available. With options, we have choice. Having choice is free will. Our society is plagued by a limiting thought that affirms, “Accept each other for who we are because people don’t change that much.” The acceptance aspect is accurate; the don’t change aspect is not. By the time we are teenagers, we undoubtedly have a blueprint of our core values firmly embedded in our unconscious minds. This blueprint is our operating system that guides us through life.

However, at some point in life we may challenge this blueprint by questioning our current-day values. This is often a worthy exercise, as many times we discover that we’ve outgrown what we were taught earlier in our lives. Through this discovery we change, eXpanding to our greater power. The more we eXpand, the more powerful we become.

Sleeping Souls tend to be stuck in their ways, highly resistant to change, because they find it difficult to question their blueprint. Many would rather suffer than experience what is unknown. They tend to live in fear, mainly fear of themselves. As a result, many of them never take the time to truly challenge their core values, because if they did, they would discover that many of them are illusions. And as Sleeping Souls get older, they find it increasingly difficult to accept that they have been living an illusion, with constrictive thinking, and poor habits. As they continue to suffer, they often do not know how to heal their past traumatic memory events, which reveal themselves in the form of energy blocks in their bodies. Many continue to cling to these inaccurate illusions and negative energy blocks, hindering their happiness and aliveness. Many feel stuck. Some begin to seek.

Seekers come to realize that anything that separates is an illusion. Therefore, beliefs are illusions! When this realization occurs, they tend to challenge everything, including their core values, which are based on their illusionary beliefs. Seekers tend to learn from others who have gone before them, realizing that figuring out an infinite Universe is impossible. Therefore, their change comes through accepting the great mystery of life. “I don’t know is all I know” is a spiritual truth that many of them embrace.

Awakened, who were once Sleeping Souls, now see the world from an eXpansive perspective. They accept that they are an “infinite spiritual being having a finite human experience.” They view themselves as a student of life, always learning, changing, and growing. Many Awakened have learned that true change occurs when they transcend to a new regenerative life of heart-centeredness….

HEART CENTEREDENESS  •  3 min read
    DAY 21 of 55: Aspect #15

“It is better in prayer to have a heart without
words than words without a heart.”

    ~ Mahatma Gandhi

ESSENCE: Heart-centeredness resides at the core of conscious and regenerative living.

Heart-Centeredness is puts the heart at the focal point of one’s life. Heart-centeredness enables us to live peacefully and harmoniously with Nature, the Universe, and ourselves. As a result, our positive thoughts, ideas, behaviors, actions, and love originate from our hearts, not our minds.

In our life’s journey, the longest distance to travel is the 18 inches between our mind and heart. Westernized conditioning has embedded in our collective consciousness that we should lead with our minds, trying to figure out life’s challenges, imposing our egos and personal wills to get the outcomes we want. This thinking is flawed, as evidenced by our fear-based reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s time we move our egos out of our minds and into our hearts; it’s time we collectively become unconditional love.

Sleeping Souls generally have closed their hearts. Fear is keeping them closed, as many fear rejection if they dare to truly love another. Societal programming views love as a jail sentence, because it’s perceived as a loss of freedom and control. A controlling mind cannot coexist with a loving heart. People’s need to control others stems from their own fears and insecurities about themselves, and it represents clear evidence of a closed heart. The greatest crimes, fear, and hatred all come from closed hearts. Souls tend to view the world through a perspective of separateness, which is a reflection of living in the mind, and not in the heart. Separateness fuels wars, discrimination, religious differences, judgment, resistance, inequality, and a host of other negative outcomes. The illusion of separateness is a form of oppression, because the best way to control a society is to separate it–just like the political divide in the United States at this moment in time. Too many Sleeping Souls fail to realize that if we drop the political narrative created by the politicians and no longer identify as being Republicans or Democrats but as Americans, then we’d unite as One, becoming at least twice as strong as a country. So long as we are divided, we will remain weak. It’s time to unite. Some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to be traversing from mind-centeredness to heart-centeredness. They tend to transition by viewing the Earth through eXpansive awareness, vastly broadening their perspective. This new perspective enables them to let go of fear, the illusion of separateness, and other limitations. Many choose to create a new personal vision, using it as a blueprint to then build their new heart-centered life.

Awakened tend to have successfully moved their egos out of their minds and into their hearts. Many perceive the ego as a powerful source of energy, and what directs this energy are the intentions fueling its direction. So when the ego is in the head, the energy is constricted; yet when the ego is in the heart, the energy is maximized. This is why Awakened fully trust their hearts to naturally guide them in the right direction. They realize that when heart-centeredness is a challenge, then it’s time to go inward, expressing forgiveness….

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free

and discover that the prisoner was you.”

    ~ Lewis B. Smedes

ESSENCE: Forgiveness is among our greatest strengths.

Forgiveness is one of our greatest strengths. We tend to think that forgiveness is mainly for others, however, it is primarily for ourselves. It’s amazing how drama in our lives quickly dissipates when forgiveness is in our hearts. The healing of past hurts and resentments enables us to be fully present, positioning us to maximize our human potential.

Achieving forgiveness for all is among the most difficult challenges we face on our quest for ascension. Nonetheless, once we reach a certain altitude—leaving the drama at base camp—forgiveness simply becomes a new way of life. We learn to release the negative energy blocks holding us captive: anger, resentment, and perhaps even hatred. We begin anew with a clean slate, creating solid foundations for our new lives, while strengthening the foundations of the communities in which we live.

Sleeping Souls tend to be rather weak in the area of forgiveness. Many remain stuck in their stories, ruminating, clutching onto negative thoughts and emotions, gossiping to others about others, justifying why they are victims. A victim mentality has a very low energetic vibration. Vibrating at such low levels will attract more like-frequencies of energy into their lives. Then they will wonder why their lives are full of fear, drama, doubt, worries, and insecurity. A lack of forgiveness is often passed onto the next generation, continuing its power of separation. Some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to learn that forgiveness is a key that all of us possess that unlocks a door to mental and emotional freedom. When our minds and hearts are filled with negative thoughts and emotions, energy blocks form, constricting our forward momentum. They learn that true forgiveness releases these low vibrating frequencies of energy, making room for the magical essence of Spirit to fill this newly created space. Many learn that forgiveness must be authentic and pure. Many Seekers create new boundaries going forward, establishing the understanding that they will not tolerate any form of future abuse, disrespect, or drama.

Awakened tend to understand that all of us are teachers for one another and that life experiences happen for us and not to us. They realize that every single human being makes mistakes and has regrets. The difference resides in whether they can forgive themselves and others. They tend to know that carrying guilt and shame around eats away at their aliveness, drains energy from their cells, and holds them back from realizing their full potential. Guilt and shame are very low energetic vibrations, so releasing these negative emotions improves their well-being tremendously. Awakened know that forgiveness reflects a powerful state of acceptance….

    DAILY AFFIRMATION

I forgive myself and others, as we are all teachers for one another. Forgiveness is my path to freedom.

    INSIGHTS

Do you realize that forgiveness is one of your greatest strengths?

Do you see yourself a “victim of circumstances” or a “student of life” or neither?

    ACCEPTANCE  •  3 min read
    DAY 23 of 55: Aspect #17

    “Be curious, not judgmental.”

    ~ Walt Whitman

ESSENCE: Accept what is, as is, when it is, to experience tremendous inner peace.

Acceptance is the acknowledgment of a situation or condition without attempting to either change it or deny it. In human psychology, acceptance is a person’s recognition and assent to the finality of a situation without attempting to change or protest it. In spirituality, acceptance is embracing what is, as it is, when it is.

Furthermore, acceptance is recognizing that we each have our own unique life and that fully respecting this uniqueness in each other’s lives is a key to living a life of acceptance. By living with acceptance, we are living without resistance, allowing Divine will to reveal itself in our present-time life experiences.

In general, anyone or anything that judges, separates, or controls describes the old paradigm. Being judgmental fuels racial discrimination, gender disparities, religious differences, and separatism. Transcending our behavior from being judgmental to becoming nonjudgmental begins with acceptance.

Acceptance that, according to neuroscience, we are 99.99% the same, as our human differences represent one-100th of 1%. Acceptance that we are connected with Nature, including the birds, mountains, oceans, and streams. Acceptance that we are an aspect of the Universe and therefore an aspect of the infinite. Acceptance of our differences. Acceptance of our similarities. When we accept, there is no longer any resistance to life. Living life without resistance yields tremendous freedom and inner peace.

Sleeping Souls tend to be judgmental, viewing the world through a lens of separation and control, thus living with low awareness and a narrow perspective. They tend to spend their time convincing others why they are right, while judging people and circumstances through their finite conscious minds. Sleeping Souls tend to fear others who look differently, speak differently, and dress differently. Their judgment causes them to miss out on opportunities to connect with others on a deeper and more meaningful level. Some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to learn to accept themselves as they transcend out of their internal dramas. They no longer judge the sleepers because they realize that they were once them. They generally accept a new level of character and self-sufficiency, no longer needing the external validation of others. Seekers generally learn to handle life with ease, assuming full responsibility for their emotions, habits, and actions.

Awakened accept what is, as is, when it is, and do so with love and compassion. They tend to view diversity as a strength, and equality as simply a way of life. They can be excellent observers of situations and people. They observe to learn, contemplate, and be more aware and accepting. They realize that the energy associated with judging carries a low vibration, whereas acceptance carries a high one. Awakened live at a high vibrational frequency, attracting what they truly desire. They tend to know that in order to access the Divine flow of life, they must do so from a state of wholeness….

    DAILY AFFIRMATION

I accept what is, as it is, when it is.

“If you are feeling whole and complete inside yourself,
    there are no psychological needs.
Psychological needs come from your blockages.”

    ~ Michael A. Singer

ESSENCE: Wholeness occurs when our heart, conscious mind, subconscious mind, and unconscious mind are in harmony, with one another.

Wholeness is a rich and fulfilling state of existence, in which our spiritual and human existences are in harmony with on another and all of life. Wholeness portrays soundness, health, and/or well-being in our heart, body, mind, Spirit, and Soul.

Wholeness implies a state of completeness, a sense of being fully integrated where nothing essential is lacking; all aspects are present with each other. Wholeness is accompanied by inner peace.

Our conscious mind is the part of our mind that we are actively aware of right now. Our subconscious mind is the bridge between the conscious and unconscious mind. It stores emotions, habits, learned behaviors, and automatic functions. Our unconscious is the deepest part of the mind, where suppressed memories, traumas, and instinctual drives reside. It holds information that the mind has buried due to its intensity or irrelevance to daily life. It stores emotions, habits, learned behaviors, and automatic functions.

We are whole when we realize that we are good enough and we are loved. At our core, we want to be seen, heard, loved, honored, respected, and accepted for who we truly are.  Traumatic events from the past cause energy blocks in our bodies. Removing these blocks returns us to our natural state of homeostasis, our natural state of wholeness.

Sleeping Souls tend to have fragmented Souls. Meaning, they experience a state of existence where they feel disconnected, incomplete, or divided within themselves. Every time a trauma, illness, or a distressing experience occurs, it chips away at their Soul. Through spiritual practice, every fragment can be retrieved, returning us to a state of wholeness. Unfortunately, too many Sleeping Souls don’t retrieve anything. Rather, they live with a lack of awareness. They don’t know what they don’t know. Some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to learn about the power of a Soul retrieval, gathering all their fragments through a ceremony led by a shaman or spiritual practitioner. Once found, these fragments are reintegrated into a Seeker’s core ESSENCE, restoring balance, wholeness, and vitality to their lives. Many have learned and experienced how restoring lost Soul fragments leads to profound emotional, psychological, and physical healing.

Awakened are whole. They’ve done their inner work of gathering their Soul fragments and now enjoy greater balance, wholeness, and vitality. Awakened experience harmony among their conscious, subconcious, and unconscious minds, enabling them to unleash their power from within. They are strong and determined people who realize the power of wholeness, and have taken the steps to achieve this high vibrational state of existence. Consequently, their spiritual Light shines bright, experiencing greater love, joy, and peace. Many Awakened have established positive Self-talk that uplifts and inspires them, while embracing Self-love….

    DAILY AFFIRMATION

of my Self, including my shadows.

    SELF-LOVE  •  3 min read
    DAY 25 of 55: Aspect #19

“Loving myself has been such a challenge.”

    ~ Alison Stormwolf

ESSENCE: Loving ourselves is a healthy way to live.

Self-Love is an intense feeling of deep affection for one’s Self. Self-love is where love originates. The old paradigm programs us to think and feel that Self-love is selfish and narcissistic. This is an illusion.

The new paradigm teaches us that there is no guilt or shame in Self-love, there is only love. And with Self-love comes self-care. We prioritize ourselves, remaining grounded, operating and creating from our ESSENCE, from our core power, from our sense of being.

Sleeping Souls tend to live in their minds, figuring out what they want and need. Their Self-love is rather low. As a result, their love for others can be rather empty and is often a manipulation to get love or attention in an attempt to fill their void of not loving themself. Relying on others to fill them with love, while being incapable of returning the love because of their hearts being closed, simply doesn’t work. Dependency on others to fill themselves with the love they are seeking from within is a recipe for disaster. Many don’t realize that they cannot deeply care for and love another until they deeply care for and love themselves. For example, many women are lacking in Self-love due to old limiting thoughts that they learned in the old paradigm, which has them believing that they are not good enough, and therefore, subordinated and unworthy. Many men are lacking in Self-love, as their hearts are being closed by old limiting thoughts that expressing feelings and crying are only for sissies. Many Sleeping Souls don’t realize that the love they are seeking already resides within themselves. Some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to learn that centeredness and calmness can’t exist without love and that the key to unleashing love in their life begins with Self-love. When Self-love is unleashed, Seekers are inspired to embrace their authentic selves, thus increasing their confidence, self-esteem, and independence. They forgive and accept themselves. Many Seekers come to discover that if there are attributes of themselves that they don’t love, then they are able to forgive and accept themselves regardless of what transpired. After all, they view themselves as students of life. They discover the power to simply choose a new way of life, because “the decisions they make today, determine the stories they tell tomorrow.” Seekers realize there is no better time to change their life than the present time.

Awakened generally realize that a solid foundation for a wonderful relationship exists when two confident and independent people, who are filled with Self-love, unite. They are together because they desire to be together, not because they need to be together. This brings about relationships based on love and equality. Many know that Self-love means rediscovering the heart as their home, which is about embracing and loving their true, authentic Selves. This enables Awakened to be secure and centered, while owning the joy of life without denial. As they embrace Self-love, they feel the importance of living with a clear sense of honesty….

HONEST HEART  •  3 min read
    DAY 26 of 55: Aspect #20

“A half truth is a whole lie.”

    ~Yiddish Proverb

ESSENCE: A conscious and regenerative life is built on a foundation of an honest heart.

Honest Heart reflects a quality of being genuine, forthright, transparent, collaborative, loving, and uncorrupted. An honest heart illuminates purity, lightness, and truthfulness. Honest hearts connect and unite, aligning our speech, behaviors, thoughts, emotions, and actions. Together, we stand strong!

Honesty through our speech is speaking our truth with sincerity, not lying or deceiving. Honesty through our behaviors is being upright and fair in our dealings with others, neither cheating nor stealing, not deceiving others by the way we act, such as making things appear to be one way when they are, in fact, different. Honesty through our thoughts is refusing to deceive ourselves. Honesty through our emotions is expressing how we truly feel. Honesty through our actions is carrying ourselves with integrity.

Honesty begins with being honest with ourselves. Do we honor honesty? Do we live our lives with absolute truthfulness? Do we take responsibility for our actions? Do we apologize to others when we hurt them? Do we forgive others who hurt us? Do we forgive ourselves? Do we realize that partial truths are lies? Are we living our truths, or are we living our lies? Living with honesty enables us to sleep well, as we aren’t hiding anything. We experience greater joy and peace.

Sleeping Souls tend to live in the old paradigm, which teaches them that cheating is OK, so long as you win; and white lies are acceptable, justifying their deceit by not wanting to hurt the other person. Some believe that they are living honest lives because they are not out stealing cars and robbing banks, even though they may steal supplies from work, fudge on the time clock, and/or cheat on their income taxes. Many Sleeping Souls are hypocrites, pretending to possess certain virtues, morals, beliefs, and success, when in reality they do not. Some Sleeping Souls are tired of living a life of lies. Some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to be truthful; however, they also learn that honesty is not about “letting it all hang out,” justifying their candor by claiming that they’re just being totally honest. Rather, they learn that honesty in speech must be both truthful and controlled. In other words, they speak their truth in love, and they desire to support others’ gifts. Seekers tend to learn not to attempt to change others. Rather, they may simply offer the wisdom which has worked well for them. They realize they need to be honest with themselves in order to be honest with others.

    DAY 27 of 55: Aspect #21

“Always be a first-rate version of yourself,
instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.”

    ~ Judy Garland

ESSENCE: Authenticity enables the real self to thrive.

Authenticity is fully embracing our genuine selves, thus remaining true to who we really are. Authentic people are inspired, confident, independent, and many are calm. They seek inner direction rather than direction from the media-saturated outside world.

Many regrets in life stem from instances when we are not our authentic selves, when we are succumbing to peer pressure, placating others, going against our intuition, and/or following the crowd to be cool and fit in.

Peer pressure and cultural conditioning expect us to act a certain way. And this is exactly what many of us do—we act.

We act a certain way when we are at work or school. We act a certain way when the boss or teacher is around. We act a certain way when attending our houses of worship. We act a certain way when we are with our friends. We act a certain way when we are with our parents and families. These are a lot of acts to keep track of! Perhaps the question to consider is: In which act are you truly being your authentic self? Living with authenticity is an expression of freedom, as we are simply being who we naturally are.

Sleeping Souls tend to be disconnected to their authentic selves. They have a tendency to succumb to peer and societal pressures, pushing them to act and look a certain way. They tend to put on a show in an effort to placate others and gain acceptance. Many communities are filled with Sleeping Souls who feel the social pressure to put aside their authentic selves and be someone they are not. They are living a lie due to their own lack of confidence and tremendous need for acceptance, prohibiting them from being who they truly are. They imprison themselves by needing external validation from other people. Some begin to seek.

Seekers generally learn that placating others at the expense of dishonoring their authentic selves is no way to live. On their quest toward ascension, there is an awakening of inspiration, while an inner sense of confidence and personal wisdom eXpands. They open to their authentic selves, expressing their talents without self-importance, enabling them to become their personal best. Seekers come to realize that acting is exhausting, and that people simply need to accept them for who they truly are.

Awakened tend to honor reality, choosing to be aware and accepting of the imperfections within themselves and others. They live their lives with integrity and tend to be open-hearted, compassionate, and friendly people. Their actions and behaviors are consistent from one social setting to the next, without concern for acceptance by others, because they have already accepted themselves. They have no need for external validation, as their self-confidence is enough. Awakened possess the ability to live their truth….
